A Poet's Life
The life of a Poet isn't always glamorous and free of care.
There's a lot of pain behind their style and flair.
Words are on paper, but the emotions are inside.
In dealing with these feelings -- A Poet creates with pride.
It's not easy to write how you feel.
Emotional wounds need time to heal.
Sharing their emotions with whoever can read.
Now can you see, it's not an easy deed.
A lost love, a lost life, problems at home.
Feelings of sadness, depression, and being alone.
Suddenly take form as images on a page.
Setting the plot for a literary stage.
Confronting the anxiety in us all.
Writing it down before an emotional fall.
Suddenly they've created poetry.
Another term for therapy.
Finally relieved of one more stress.
A Poet's way to confide and confess.
In telling this tale, I have no regrets.
Because I am one of those Poets!
