Writer's Block
Welcome to the Writer's Block! What are my intentions for this section of the Web Page? Well, once upon a time I ran a Poetry Chat Room on Prodigy. We would all gather and take turns reciting our Poetry, and then give constructive criticism to one another. I also use to hang out in #Poetry on the Undernet and enjoyed the same environment (Friendly place, I highly recommend it!!). Do I think that will happen here? I highly doubt it. It's slightly harder to share the total feedback in this type of environment. What I would like to see is the sharing factor! If you have something that you'd like to see printed in this section, E-mail it to me. I've always been one to look for ways to give writers of all kinds an outlet. If you have short stories, poems, etc... Anything of the written word, please feel free to share! I will be posting a few of my own things here as well. Also, let me know how you want the Written By to read. Unless you tell me otherwise, I WILL include your E-mail address so people can send you feedback.
Anything submitted to me for printing within the Writer's Block remains the sole possession of the original writer. Distribution of any written material within the Writer's Block is prohibited without the expressed permission of the original author. Jeff King (aka Darkwind) claims no ownership of submitted material. Editing of submitted material will be limited to space reasons only, and will not intentionally change the meaning or content of the original writing. Jeff King's writings are also protected by the Copyrights of this Page, and previous Copyrights from publication.
I think the first poem I will start with is a poem that I wrote to open my Poetry Room every night. So, here you go. I've recently entitled it:
A POET'S GREETING
I share my thoughts, feelings, and soul with those who wish to listen.
They drink from it like the Nectar of the Gods.
Why do I open myself like this?
Because sharing such thoughts brings knowledge,
And knowledge brings power,
Power to make your own choices.
So I freely give my knowledge, and in turn my power, to those gathered.
For they are the ones who are willing to use it.
Strangers?
Yes...For a brief glimpsing moment.
But in the sharing, a bond is made.
A bond no one can take away from us.
One is in trouble, I am there - though I've never seen the one's face.
Why?
A Poet's heart is the same all over.
If you know your own heart, then you know the others.
I know mine...So I know all of yours.
Friends - - Poets - - Welcome to this place.
As long as there is strength within me,
There will be a place for Poets of kindred spirit to perform!
Knowledge is Power! Knowledge is the ultimate weapon! Don't come here unarmed!
Notice: Some of these submissions were submitted to me at my old website. The e-mail addresses may no longer be accurate.
Thank you to everyone that has e-mailed me a submission. They will be posted soon! Also, to everyone viewing this page and the writings, please e-mail your feedback to those kind enough to share a piece of their soul with us at this site! Thanks again!!
